Next month, I will be hosting the first meeting of the Newport Cycling Group in Horton’s Coffee House.
The aim of the new lobbying group is discuss ways to improve cycle routes and active travel provisions in Newport.
We will be joined by members of Cardiff Cycle City, a lobbying group in the capital, who will discuss their experiences of establishing a similar cycling advocacy group in the capital.
Newport’s cycling scene is thriving and I believe there is scope to establish better routes and improve the provisions the city can offer, in accordance with the Active Travel Act of 2014.
I would ask anyone interested in attending to please email me to register interest and I look forward to a morning of useful discussions and, of course, good coffee in Hortons Coffee House!
The meeting will be held at 10am on Saturday 25th of May.

Byddaf yn cynnal cyfarfod cyntaf Grŵp Beicio Casnewydd yn Nhŷ Coffi Horton.
Nod y grŵp lobio newydd yw trafod ffyrdd o wella llwybrau beicio a darpariaethau ar gyfer teithio llesol yng Nghasnewydd.
Bydd aelodau Dinas Feicio Caerdydd, grŵp lobïo yn y brifddinas, yn ymuno â ni i drafod eu profiadau yn sefydlu grŵp eirioli beicio tebyg yn y brifddinas.
Mae sin feicio Casnewydd yn ffynnu ac yn fy marn i mae yna botensial i sefydlu gwell llwybrau a gwella’r ddarpariaeth sydd ar gael yn y ddinas, yn unol â Deddf Teithio Llesol 2014.
Gofynnaf i unrhyw un sydd â diddordeb i fod yn bresennol i anfon e-bost ataf i gofrestru diddordeb ac edrychaf ymlaen at fore o drafodaethau buddiol ac wrth gwrs, coffi gwerth chweil yn Nhŷ Coffi Hortons!
